Private sessions
last approximately 90 minutes. You should schedule 2 hours, 'just
in case'. These are very in-depth sessions that usually involve
a combination of modalities. Each session is solution-oriented,
and while you may need to give me some history and tell me your
story once, you will find these sessions quickly deviate from
'standard' therapy or counseling. Once we know what we are working
with, we stay focused on the goal. Sometimes JUST creating a clear
goal for your sessions gives us exactly what we need to get you
there.
Do you know
what you want? Can you imagine HAVING it? Feeling it, hearing
it, seeing it? Then you can open your minds' eye to finding it
or creating it.
In a private
session, you and I will spend the first few minutes just chatting.
If it is your first session, we will go over the paperwork you've
filled out, and discuss your goals. I will answer any and all
questions you have, and you will be given the opportunity to continue
the session, or change your mind. Although I do not offer 'free
consultations', if after we have spent a few minutes together
you decide we are not a good match, you will be free to end the
session early at no charge. Once you have chosen to move forward,
we will utilize whatever tools work for you - hypnosis, NLP, EFT...or
something else. In other words, flexibility is the key. While
some people want to experience 'traditional' hypnosis, most are
more interested in the outcome, and don't really care what tool
we use to get there. For a LOT of people, traditional hypnosis
IS the best tool. For some people, the path to the goal may look
very different. It is YOUR goal, YOUR session, and we will do
what we need to do, to get the results YOU want.
Will that
happen in a single session? Maybe. Possibly. For many people,
definitely. Sometimes a single session is enough - sometimes you
might need 3...or even 6. Yep - 6 sessions...NOT 6 months, or
6 years. Some of the most complex single issues I've helped people
with have taken 7 sessions. That means for any given, focused,
single issue, you can count on significant progress in a VERY
short period of time.
An average
session will involve some history and inquiry, some form of hypnotic
intervention (an NLP process, direct suggestion hypnosis, etc),
and sessions usually end with a relaxed hypnotic 'wrap-up' designed
to emphasize and reinforce the work we did that day.
Most people
leave the sessions feeling much better than when they arrived,
and able to continue with their day with energy and focus. We
will have a good sense of whether you need another session at
the end of the first session, but sometimes I advise people to
'be with it' for a couple of days, and then let me know if they
feel they need more sessions. Remember - you are in charge of
the entire process. While I can advise you, I will not decide
FOR you whether more sessions are in order. If you feel the work
is productive, and you are not yet feeling exactly the way you
want to feel - by all means, continue sessions. However, if for
any reason you feel like you are coming to sessions but not making
any progress, you should discontinue immediately. These sessions
are about results and progress. That means each session should
produce SOME positive benefit for you, even if you are not 'done'
yet.
